50:50 Parliament presents: SUFFRAGETTE (2015)

  • Chapeltown Picture House 50 Red Bank Manchester, England, M4 4HF United Kingdom (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

50:50 Parliament is a friendly network helping women progress in politics! Join us for a film screening of Suffragette in partnership with Feminist Movie Monday, the volunteer-led initiative by the Centre of Gender Studies at Lancaster University.

50:50 helps women take the first step along the political path with our #AskHerToStand and #SignUpToStand campaign. Before the film there will be a short introduction to 50:50 and the fantastic work that we do to inspire women to progress in politics. The fight for political equality continues! So come along to hear about what action 50:50 is taking.

50:50 and Feminist Movie Monday are inclusive, so everyone is welcome to attend! We ask that you follow our code of conduct and respect all attendees equally.

The 50:50 Parliament Mission

It’s our mission to attain 50:50 gender balanced representation on elected bodies throughout the UK by 2030. We will encourage and empower women to engage in politics at every level. Our mission is driven by 50:50 core principles: Representation, Resources, Responsibility and Respect. 50:50 wants our Parliament and elected bodies to be properly representative and to draw upon the widest possible pool of talent including 50% of the population that are women. Planning the future is a joint responsibility and those in power should lead the way in showing respect for women, their experience and opinions.
